Hello,
I am OSCAR RODRIGUEZ

Chief Technology Officer

About Me

As a highly accomplished and innovative leader in educational technology, I am passionate about leveraging technology to enhance student learning opportunities and accessibility. I currently serve as the Chief Technology Officer at Austin ISD and lead the district’s digital transformation across all enterprise information systems. This includes successfully implementing several large-scale technology projects, such as launching a new enterprise resource planning system (ERP), a unified enrollment system (Enroll Austin), and a new special education case management platform. I believe that systems should be “Simple. standard. secure,” and my leadership style is characterized by a collaborative approach, a commitment to transparency, and an unwavering focus on student success.
My passion for education began long ago, as I was inspired by my parents, who overcame language, educational, and economic barriers to achieve success through hard work and dedication. As a former teacher myself, I believe that quality public education is fundamental to changing the trajectory of children’s lives, and strong leadership is required to support that mission continuously. I strive to lead by example, demonstrating my commitment to education through action so others can follow. This includes being present in the community and building strong relationships with all stakeholders: parents, teachers, and educational leaders.
